5 events that call for a handwritten note
NEW YORK – Jan. 27, 2017 – As society operates more and more online, handwritten notes are becoming a rarity – but that’s why sending one to clients could help you stand out from the competition.
“A thank-you note can stand out from the seemingly dull and impersonal style of digital communications, such as emails and texts,” Keller Williams Realty notes on its blog. “With mailing lists and newsletters coming at your clients from nearly every business they visit, a thank-you note is a tasteful and sincere demonstration of your gratitude.”
Occasions that may call for a personal handwritten note:
- Thanking new clients for listing with you
- Anniversaries of the purchase of a home
- Special occasions, such as birthdays and graduations
- Thanking clients for sending a referral
- Following up after a listing appointment
As for how to write one, KW recommends simply including the date, a salutation that addresses your recipient’s name, an opening line specifically mentioning your gratitude, and your signature: A thank-you note needs to be only three to four sentences long.
